Headteacher Welcome

On behalf of our whole school community, I would like to welcome you to Sutton Valence Primary School. My name is Matthew Jones and I have the privilege of being this amazing school’s Headteacher.

Our children are at the heart of every decision we make and our positive and vibrant learning environment is designed to encourage every child to maximise their potential.

As the Headteacher, I am fortunate to work with a team of staff and governors who are extremely dedicated and truly want the best for all our children – striving to provide the best education and fundamental life skills for any child who walks through our doors.

Through our school values of RESPECT, RESILIANCE and RELATIONSHIPS, we want to ensure that all children achieve not only their academic potential but also leave Sutton Valence Primary School with the skills and knowledge to be positive global citizens. In order to succeed, all children are taught the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices, mental health and wellbeing and developing key social skills that they will need as they move through life.

We want every family and child to feel part of the school community. Therefore, building relationships between our staff, governors, families and wider community is incredibly important to us in order to ensure that we are all working together to provide the very best support for all children at our school.

Providing a safe and inspiring learning environment is integral to the successful development of all children. We aim to do this by offering:

·        An engaging and bespoke curriculum that inspires children’s learning.

·        A wide range of extracurricular opportunities such as school trips, workshops and a range of clubs.

·        The opportunity to take part in Earth Class throughout the year in order to gain badges for specific skills learnt during the sessions, promote wellbeing and different social skills as well as promoting environmental issues.

Sutton Valence Primary School is a happy and vibrant place to learn and grow and I am proud of the whole school community’s commitment to drive forward in all aspects of school life.
