    HOME LEARNING

    (Home learning will be set every Wednesday and due back the following Wednesday).

    Please sign your child reading records, this does not have to be their reading book from school.

    Anything you child is reading please make a note of and sign.

    Maksure they are reading at home at least 3 times per week!

    Maths - 4 weekly maths questions which will be in a homework book and sent home.

    Times tables - Please also practise your timestables on TTRS in garage mode at least 3 times per week.

    Spelling - Practise the year 3 and 4 common exception words from their word matts sent home at the start of term 1, please ask a teacher for a new copy if this gets lost.

    Optional - On the newletter their will always be the options for extra homework. This is completely optional but their will be a small incentive for those children who do complete this.

    Your passwords for TTRS are in the back of your contact book.

    Times Tables

    Please remember to use Times Table Rock Stars! I am expecting you to use TTRS at least 3 times a week. These times tables underpin all their maths learning.

    At the end of year 4 we have a Multiplication Tables Check which is done throughout England, practising the tables will really help prepare the children for this timed test.

    Please play the 'Garage' option to practise tables set by me.

    Use the 'Soundcheck' option to practise all your times tables in a speed test. Soundcheck is similar to the government test all pupils will sit at the end of year 4.

    Spelling

    The children have all been sent home the Year 3 and 4 common exception words on a word matt.

    Please can they be practising all of these words at home aim to practice 10 per week. We will be testing the children weekly on random spelling from this list every Friday.
