Welcome to Year 6

Year 6 Residential

Day 4:

Our last full day is coming to an end, and we are spending our final evening together learning circus skills!  We have had a really busy day back in the water, climbing up the mega wall and shooting targets! We are all getting excited about finishing our school journey tomorrow, by challenging ourselves on the zip wire.

Day 3:

We’ve made it half way through our week! It’s been another full on day with plenty of sunshine. It’s been great to see the children working as team and encouraging each other when challenges have been difficult! We are ending our day around the campfire, singing songs and dancing!

Day 2:

Our first full day has been amazing. The children have taken part in different activities such as raft building, crate stacking, cooking and zorbing. It’s been so lovely watching them taking part and conquering challenges.

Day 1:

Everyone has arrived safe and sound and immediately got stuck into activities. The children have been climbing, making shelters, cooking and throwing Tomahawks. For dinner, we made our own pizzas which went down a storm and we are now getting ready for our evening games. Fingers crossed for some sleep tonight!

Reading Challenge

On Monday 24th May, we will be launching a new reading challenge for this term.

Pupils will need to read to an adult at least three times a week to complete the challenge on time.

Please make sure you sign your child(ren)’s reading record book so that we can keep track of who is reading at home.

The children do not need to read a whole book every time they read to you. Reading a few pages at a time is enough, as long as they discuss their understanding of the text with you, as this is a vital part of their reading development.

Pupils will need to reach the following milestones by:

08/05 for Bronze

15/05 for Silver

22/05 for Gold

Pupils who have reached Gold on time will receive a reward, chosen by the children, during the last week of term.
